“At first sight, the painted image looks like a primitive medium, which has stopped time. That is why I decided that my paintings shall look like a graffiti on a wall. This explains my idea about the project „Migration and Refugees“. Although it is not possible to describe the pain and suffering of the people, I have nevertheless tried to capture this. In this series I took basic photos from the internet and I changed them in the painting process with different materials and techniques to express my feelings about the refugees. I also have a migration background and I am Syrian, and even though I am not a refugee, I feel a special solidarity, especially with the Syrian refugees. The refugee issue is highly up-to-date and it will continue in the future.”
